A picturesque farm wedding venue right outside of Washington DC and Baltimore
We love wedding venues that have a gorgeous backdrop and also provide a laid back experience. Having the opportunity to get married in a beautiful setting on a Maryland farm while also having wonderful modern amenities is a no-brainer for planning a wedding where you know the atmosphere will be right and your guests will be well taken care of.
Bluebird Manor is a Maryland farm venue that provides an upscale experience for you and your guests with the charm of stunning country backdrops. Nestled in the countryside of Maryland, Bluebird Manor is the perfect barn wedding venue for an unforgettable wedding celebration. The venue serves large weddings with up to 180 guests. Located just outside of Frederick, Maryland and in close driving distance from both Washington DC and Baltimore, Maryland, it’s an easy commute from the city and from guests traveling in from outside of the area.
Wedding photos at Bluebird Manor
We recently photographed Andrew and Lindsay’s incredible wedding at Bluebird Manor. Andrew and Lindsay gave us so much trust to tell their story in a heartfelt way. We had a blast from start to finish!

Why we loved the space as a photographer
1.We loved the variety of options
Whether you dream of exchanging vows under the weeping willow tree, in an open field, or inside the barn, the farm can accommodate all weather scenarios with ease and has a lot of great spaces to consider.
Cocktail hour was incredibly relaxing on the lawn outside of the barn with kids running around wild and free and getting to talk to animals through the fences. There’s a great built-in bar on the lower level of the barn to serve guests refreshing cocktails.
The big reception barn was well air conditioned in the hot summer months. The barn had all of the rustic charm, but without all of the DIY stress to decorate. Your planner and catering team will be able to setup and work in the space with ease.
There were so many good options for portraits and it was easy to work with natural light in all of the spaces.
2.We liked the rain plan
A lot of wedding venues have a beautiful outdoor ceremony option but have a lousy rain plain. Bluebird Manor has you covered for both scenarios so you can plan in peace. Although we thankfully missed an afternoon thunderstorm by a few minutes for Andrew and Lindsay’s wedding ceremony, we liked the backup rain plan with good natural light and overall aesthetic.
3.Great light
So much of wedding photography is dependent on natural light, and Bluebird Manor had leveraged this both inside and outside. On bright sunny days we’re often searching for beautiful shady areas for portraits and we easily found these with the big willow tree and the tree-lined road. Also, the inside ceremony space for the rain plan had nice natural light and reflected light well with the white walls.
