Madi and Charlie go all in on life.

They have the kind of energy that pulls people toward them—a massive group of friends, a love for a good party, and this uncanny ability to meet someone for the first time and make them feel like they’ve belonged all along. We know because that’s exactly how they made us feel.

So it made sense that their June wedding at Middleton Place felt like them from beginning to end.

Charlie’s dad officiated their ceremony beneath a tree overlooking the Ashley River. As Madi made her way across the gardens toward him, Charlie was already fighting back tears. Soon enough, so was everyone else.

And then, naturally, they threw one hell of a party.

Dinner happened by candlelight under the tent, with big laughs, stories and another round of tears. Afterward, a sax player led everyone inside in a second-line-style parade, where DJ NattyHeavy and live musicians turned the reception into two solid hours of dancing.

But one of our favorite moments happened after everyone else had gone outside.

While their guests gathered with sparklers, Madi and Charlie stayed behind for one last dance. They spun and laughed and held onto each other, completely unselfconscious and completely themselves. It was one of the most free-spirited, romantic, honest last dances we’ve ever photographed.

Then the doors opened.

With two beers in one hand and Madi in the other, Charlie ran with his new wife through a tunnel of sparklers toward their getaway car.

Exactly, we imagine, how these two intend to take on the rest of their lives.
